The Caracal is also sometimes referenced as the Desert Lynx and is easily identified by the long hairs that extend from the tops of its ears.  This wild cat can be found throughout Africa, Asia, and India and is very common in Southern Africa in countries such as South Africa and Namibia.  Caracal’s are a smaller of the African cat species reaching up to roughly forty-five pounds.

The Cheetah is the fastest mammal in the world, reaching speeds of up to sixty miles per hour in just three seconds.  In addition to this species extreme speed, Cheetahs have outstanding eyesight and are known for being extremely stealthy.  An adult Cheetah can weigh up to almost one hundred and fifty pounds and can be found throughout a number of countries within Africa.

Lion

The Leopard can be found throughout most of Central and Southern Africa.  These big cats are extremely powerful and can weigh up to one hundred and seventy-five pounds.  Leopards are extremely strong and it is not uncommon for them to haul their kills into trees to protect it from other predators.  Leopard hunting is using most successful when bait is implemented, and most outfitters find success in hanging the bait from a tree.

The Genet Cat is a very small relative of the cat species, however its actions are more like the mongoose.  This solitary species lives in a very small range and hunts primarily during the nighttime hours.  The Genet Cat is easily identified by its extremely long striped tail, which is normally more than half of the length of the animal’s full body length.

The African Lion is prized by many to be the most significant trophy from throughout all of Africa.  These cats are unique from other species of cats in Africa, as they live in groups called prides, whereas other cats are very solitary in nature.  These cats are extremely powerful and can grow larger than four hundred pounds.  Like other cat species, and in most countries, lions are hunted utilizing bait.
